- What is Project Management?:Â Defining the discipline and its key objectives (scope, time, cost, quality).
- The Value of PM:Â Understanding how effective PM delivers benefits and reduces risks for organizations.
Module 2: Project Life Cycle and Key Phases
- The Project Life Cycle:Â Overview of the typical phases: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Controlling, Closing.
- Initiation Phase:Â Defining the project goal, scope, and stakeholders. The project charter.
- Closing Phase:Â Handing over the final deliverable, releasing resources, and conducting lessons learned.
Module 3: Roles and Responsibilities of a Project Manager
- The PM’s Key Duties: Leading the team, managing communication, mitigating risks, managing the triple constraint (scope, time, cost).
- Essential Skills:Â Communication, leadership, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management.
- Authority vs. Responsibility:Â Understanding the challenge of leading projects without direct authority over team members.
Module 4: Basic Project Management Tools and Techniques
- Visual Tools:Â Introduction to Gantt charts, Kanban boards, and calendars for tracking progress.
- Communication Tools:Â The RACI chart (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) for defining roles.
